Want to Learn How?
Chances are you read the headline and thought, “I would love to do that but….” Then, came up with a bunch of reasons why you can’t. Between June 2017 – June 2018, my wife, two boys (ages 9 & 11), and I spent one year on the road traveling through 29 countries with most of that time in South America, Africa and Middle East.
It was a once-in-a-lifetime trip my wife and I have done twice. In 2005 we took seven months off of work and traveled from New Zealand north to China and over to Russia. We were deep into our careers but knew that we couldn’t wait until retirement. This time we wanted our boys to get a flavor of what the world outside the United States is like. Life is short and we didn’t want to miss out on such a life-changing experience.
Many of you followed us either on Facebook or our blog and would like to know how it can be done.
We are speaking at the Pleasanton Library (400 Old Bernal Ave, Pleasanton, CA) on Sunday, Jan 27 from 2:00 – 3:00. It is a free event and first-come, first-seated basis (Capacity 175).
We will talk about key logistics (planning, packing & cost), our favorites (places & foods), and challenges. If you can’t make it but have questions, send me a note.
Chef Charles Vollmar says
Hey Bryan – Happy New Year!
Great to see you and your family paying it forward to encourage others to follow your path!
Unfortunately, I have a commitment on 1/27. Looking forward to meeting up some day; maybe a class to cook together?
